Audio postcard: This Thanksgiving, thank a farmer!

Farmers feed us all year round. This Thanksgiving, take some time to say thanks.

As you plan your Thanksgiving dinner — or tonight’s dinner — think of the farmers who grow everything you eat. All around the world, farmers feed and sustain us. This Thanksgiving, share your thanks for what farmers do year round by participating in the Thank a Farmer campaign.

One of the Farm Radio International supporters who participated last year is Janna, who had this to say:

Hello, my name is Janna. I’m 90 years old this year and I never sit down to the table without giving thanks for not only the goodness of the earth but for those of you who provide the food that comes to our table. And we are glad, as supporters of Farm Radio, to know that our family, as we feast this Thanksgiving, reaches far beyond us to farmers and families in Africa and all over Canada.”

With one message, you can raise money to support small-scale African farmers. Until the end of Canadian Thanksgiving Day (October 13th, 2014), a generous supporter will donate to Farm Radio International for every action taken as part of the Thank a Farmer campaign. So, please:

Raise your voice

Leave your own personal message of thanks for farmers. Act by Thanksgiving Day and a generous donor will match your action with a gift of $20 to Farm Radio International. Act by October 8th and your message could be aired on the radio here in Canada through myFM and across Africa through Farm Radio International’s partner stations. Give us a call at: 1-888-504-3663.

Follow for four

Raise $4 for Farm Radio International simply by connecting with us. For a limited time, a generous donor will contribute $1 for each new follow on FacebookTwitter, Youtube and Google+. If you’d like to share a message of thanks over social media, be sure to use hashtag #thankafarmer.

Quadruple your impact

Donate now to quadruple your impact! A generous supporter is matching all Thank a Farmer donations made by the end of Thanksgiving Day three-to-one.
