Linking Agricultural Research and Rural Radio in Africa (LARRRA)
Several of our partners from Ghana, Uganda and Cameroon are involved in the LARRRA project.
The Linking Agricultural Research and Rural Radio in Africa (LARRRA) project is a collaboration of the University of Guelph, Farm Radio International, and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Fund for International Development, with national-level partners in Cameroon, Ghana, and Uganda, as well as new activities beginning in several other countries, including Francophone Africa.
The objectives of the project are to strengthen partnerships, both among and between agriculturalists (farmers, researchers, government and non-governmental extension workers) and rural radio broadcasters, for addressing information gaps on food and agricultural sciences using radio stations (government, community or privately owned) that serve resource-poor farmers.
