Fall issue of Network News is here!

The fall issue of Network News, the newsletter we produce three times a year to keep our supporters informed about our work, has been published. Learn about some of the things Farm Radio International has been up to in the past few months.

Some highlights include the launch of the Farmer Program e-Course, a new initiative called the Radio for Farmer Value Chain Development, the Rockefeller Foundation winning entry – FarmQuest, and donors who used the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary to make a special gift to Farm Radio International.

  1. Program design may be described as the oil that lubricates the engine of any edutainment radio program.

Technology has empowered our audience to the extent that they have become equal partners in content generation. Gone are the days when journalists owned all the knowledge and were in the business of transfering it to a passive audience. Most people now have access to any information at a click of a button.

The more we engage our target audiences in designing our program structure, the higher the chance of being heard. You may call it crowdsourcing, participatory or citizen journalim, but lets do all we can to make our audience get engaged in issues affecting them.

Multimedia platform provides a better avenue for this strategy. Cellphones and social media, if well managed, makes t possible to interact with our audience and solicit relevant informatuon.
